It was an exciting day to walk across the stage and finally have my diploma in hand. I officially have a Bachelor’s of Business Administration concentrating in marketing and entrepreneurship with a minor in publishing!
After you walk across the stage, my business school, SFU Beedie, always hosts a party for all the graduates and their family. I quickly realized an important lesson:
Have an answer to, “So, what are you up to now?”
If you’re one to care about what others think of you, you better be ready with an answer that beats, “I don’t know yet…”
Start looking for a job months before graduation or start planning that backpacking trip you’ve always wanted to go on. Embarking on a mission to volunteer in a third world country is also a crowd pleaser.
It’s not fun to be sitting at home unemployed just browsing job postings when classmates all around you are starting their exciting post-grad life. Don’t procrastinate on this one!
